Portraiture
Interested in commissioning a portrait? It would be great to hear from you.
I have been working by commission as a self taught portrait artist since a teenager. My work aims to capture an honest depiction of the sitter and convey depth of character. My work is engrossed in the exploration of texture, colour and detail with looser use of paint often juxtaposed with fine detail.
The style of my work has evolved by exploring the process of capturing the human figure in response to gaining greater experience in anatomy and surgery. Such interdisciplinary engagement can help to build a deeper understanding of underlying body structure and compliment figurative artwork more widely. Follow the links and learn more about about my work teaching anatomical art to artists and health professionals.
