Arts and Humanities in Medical Education - A day for critical enquiry

I was delighted today to be asked to help consult and present on the major new curriculum review for the University of Bristol Medical School. The ground up re-write of the structure will see the arts delivered as a core helical theme throughout - all rather exciting.

The University has an unusual opportunity to incorporate diverse and effective strategies for the students throughout their time at medical school, and given the variety of professionals attending today (including Performing Medicine and a number of arts professionals and educationalists), the resources and ideas on offer were laid on the table.

I will watch with interest to see how the new curriculum develops and the resultant impact it may have upon the student experience.
